On much the same topic as Kisscurl's thread, we must have a Canberra meet! Any ideas? Place, time? I want to meet my fellow collectors. <333

Will this be done outside of the pony fair times??? just i don't think we should draw away from the fair, sure if its something you guys will do and also goto the fair then its a great idea, i just mentioned mine only because its for some people to fly from perth to the eastern states is expensive

It really wouldn't be a big deal. For one I assume it will be relatively soon, so no where near the fair and of course we will all come to the main Fair, if we are able! I was thinking more lunch and some pony talk, nothing too outrageous! I'd really just love to meet all the other collectors in Canberra, so I can recognise them next time I'm trawling through Target, lol.

LOl's that sounds like a great idea, its nice to meet people who are as mad as we are pony collecting, i'm sick of the funny looks i get when i tell people what i collect, i want to talk names, ponies, do trades etc

It's definitely time we had a little meet in Canberra. That way, if the fair is held elsewhere, we'll at least know our fellow pony collectors and might be able to organize going together or staying together.
I think that Kurby and I might actually be the only collectors without children so maybe a pony picnic by a lake (whichever has the most people near it I suppose) or park would be a good idea.
I would suggest having something at someone's house but I'm not sure how comfortable everyone is with that idea. I have some pony board games (G1 and G3) and 3 bags of ponies that had to abandon the Pony Salon and Pony Hospital over Christmas as we had guests. I don't have an issue with headless, tailless, dirty or messy-haired ponies lounging about in the bath but apparently it might be a bit wierd to people outside of the immediate family.

A picnic would be fine with me. I'd offer my place for a venue, but I do literally live in the middle of nowhere (I'm about an hour from the centre of canberra). However I do have paradise estate

I'd love to meet you all. I work full time though so weekends are the only times I could make it. I may bring my son depending on whether it is my ex's weekend or not. I also don't drive so I'd need it to be somewhere buses can reach.
I'm a real pain.

I would be so in for a Canberra Pony meet!! I also live about an hour and a bit from Canberra, so it would have to be a weekend for me also. Would we be bringing ponies to trade or sell or would it be more of a social gathering?

I think that if anyone has things to sell or trade, bringing them along would be a great idea. I know I have a few things.
I think it's best we wait for this insane weather to disappear first. All the sea ponies that come along won't be impressed.

I have some to sell/trade as well, I think. Yes, the weather is not my friend at the moment! School starts next week also, so probably earlier than later is better, before I and I think a few others get too much assessment piled up!

What area of Canberra are you in, Kurby? If we can at least start working out where we might have it, we can work out a date afterwards. Especially if transport is going to be an issue. StarFaerie and I are both in Belconnen.

I'm inner north, in O'Connor so if the lake is a go ahead, I'd be good for anywhere around Lake Ginninderra or Lake Burley Griffin.

Looks like I'll be digging out some stuff then.....anyone have an idea of a couple of dates so we can work out a day where all of us wanting to go are available to attend? I'm free any weekend both Saturday and Sunday.
I was also wondering who else is bringing their kidlets? I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old, I can either bring them or let hubby take them around Canberra for the day.
So the list so far looks to be: Kurby Redd Starfaerie Xevee and myself Does anyone know anyone else in the general area that may be interested in attending?

Sunday works best for me, as I am always in Mitchell/Belconnen on Sunday morning, but it's not a great big deal either way! And I can't do 2nd Sunday of the month, as that's Pony Club, haha.
I am still a kidlet myself, I'm afraid! (Only just.. ;D)
So for dates, I'll just write down the ones coming up so everyone can check their diaries.
7th of Feb (Sat) 8th of Feb (Sun) 14th of Feb (Sat) 15th of Feb (Sun) 21st of Feb (Sat) 22nd of Feb (Sun) 28th of Feb (Sat) 1st of March (Sun) 7th of Match (Sat) 8th of March (Sun)
