I am devastated guys!!! I received baby mimic today and she was in pieces! Her head had fallen off and one of her eyes have fallen out leaving a big hole! I know its not the sellers fault but I think she could have been packed better. She was put straight into a padded bag although this was very thin. She had no other padding at all.
I'm not sure what to do as I have never had to deal with anything like this before. I'm am going to email the seller I'm just not sure what to say. Any suggestions from you guys?

go to a craft store and buy gem glue, its the best glue for plastics AND you're gluing a gem back in. Put glue around the inside of the babies eye whole and then using something like tweezers go in through the back of her neck and hold the gem in place until it sticks by itself. Then leave it over night to dry.
The head should just pop back on. If not, you can glue it too, but I wouldn't do that personally, in case you need to go back in again.

OMG - how does her head just fall off? That is outrageous! Given that your seller customized her you'd expect that she would have been super careful with packaging. A minimum of bubble wrap. Sorry ems that's so disappointing Be polite with comms, take some pics so that the seller can really see what's happened and just explain that she needed more wrapping.

That's so sad! I'm guessing her head fell off because it doesn't have the lip of the neck anymore and was just glued on (and not very well). I'd just superglue or use model cement to stick it and the eye back on. If it is a hole in her eye, very carefully apply a small amount of the glue around the hole then pop the eye on. Maybe if you blu-tacked the gem to a skewer or something you would be able to attach it without attaching yourself to the pony as well!
The seller really should have packed her better considering how much you paid. You would think that she would at least care enough about her work to want it to arrive in a good condition. She should have bubblewrapped it and then put it in the envelope (better yet, a box).
I'd just send her a message telling her Baby Mimic arrived but she was broken, probably because of how she was packed. The seller might offer to fix her for you or give you some of your money back. I hope it turns out in your favour. People who pack things irresponsibly really do my head in.

Update on Baby Mimic - I contacted the seller (very nicely) and basically she said that she has always packed her ponies like that and no other international posts have had any problems. She also said that because she was not insured (stupid me has learnt my lesson it would have only costed an extra $1.80) basically there is nothing that she can do about it.
So now I have the issue of feedback. I cant leave a positive obviously, but I dont really want to leave a negative either as it is not totally the sellers fault. Should I just leave a nuetral or nothing at all???
And thankyou for all the really helpful tips. Hopefully I can get her back together without making too much of a mess of her. I will let you guys know how it goes.

Is she a member of the community? On the tp or arena? You might find that a usefull angle. Given that if she is you could post the same question on one of those boards and draw a bit of attention to it that she may not like. Which would make her a little more generous perhaps.
Most people who get ponies sent to them and send them are aware that bubblewrap is not a luxury - it's a necessity! I get ponies that are mediocre at times and they've been wrapped like they're expensive crystal. I mean people in the community really go to an effort with postage 99% of the time.
The insurance is not an excuse. I'd suggest that the pony wasn't put together as well as she might have been and certainly wasn't taken care of appropriately for packaging.

Ohhhh very nice. Helados pony. She is the prettiest of those Argie Lickety Splits. Great price too!
I can't believe you've held out so long. How do you collect this long and not just find yourself throwing money at the Nirvanas?

Yes, yes they are. But I don't know anything about that *cough, cry* LOL
May I suggest you do not start with the Greeks, South Africans or Colombians. When you eventually give in the Mexicans are a good start point.

Well I started with the two sitting ones and then swiftly decided it's best to stop and proceed elsewhere before I was living in a park staring at them LOL
