Does anyone else have Ringlets or Highlights? I usually wash all my ponies hair before putting them on display but I'm wondering if this would wash the crimping out of Highlights' hair. Has anyone else ever washed the hair of a Great Hair Pony or do you think it would make her hair straight?

I haven't washed those particular ponies (I'm guessing you were the person who outbid me on ebay, right? You lucky thing!) but I have washed the SHS with crimped hair (can't remember her name at the moment).
I tried to avoid cleaning it when I was washing her body since it was filthy and filled with 11 kinds of horrible but in the end it got wet anyway. Since she only cost me $2 I figured I'd wash her hair anyway since it was probably best granted how dirty the rest of her was. As long as the water is cold or on the colder side of warm, it should maintain its crimp - just be gentle when rubbing the shampoo and conditioner in. Lightly pat it dry with a towel. Maybe putting her in a warm spot to speed up the drying will help. My SHS came out fine in the end.
I'm the same with my ponies. I really hate putting new ones in without giving them a wash or styling their hair so they look their best. If her hair isn't too bad it might be best to just leave it.

He he. Yeah, that was me, red. In my defense, you outbid me on Baby Billie and I needed to do some pony shopping to make myself feel better ;D
I think I might give it a go. Patting it dry is probably the way to go I think.
It's silly I know, but I like to have all my ponies smelling the same and having beautiful hair before they join the rest of the herd.

I have Ringlets and I had to wash her as I got her from dot100dogs - the hair curling seller. So her tail was all curled and I wanted to get it back to normal.
A simple but gentle wash, no brushing and just letting her dry out worked fine. A tiny bit frizzy but she still has her crimp.

Surely that is some sort of pony collecting sin. I can't believe she didn't know better.

I won't buy from her any more the only pony I ever got I had soooooo much trouble washing the curls out and the ponies hair felt like it was going to break off it was so brittle and it still feels slick and awful . . . Yuck whatever she does isn't good for their hair . . .

The worst thing was I started a thread at the Arena when I bought her, basically saying the same thing "Why would she do it and how can I fix it" and it turned into a massive issue. Dot got all upset about it and it just went horribly wrong.
So not only does she do a questionable job on the hair but she doesn't deal with criticism or even questioning too well. Sad.

I like to deal with sellers who want to work with you as a buyer! Also curls or not I refuse to pay such high prices for regular, pretty easy to come across ponies not matter how mint or HTF she thinks they are I'll never forget that Majesty she sold with accessories I know it's hard to get a nice white one but still . . .
