*Sigh* For the last fortnight or so, I've been sniped on almost every pony or pony item I want on ebay. There are two or three bidders who must have it in for me because one of them always snipes me in the last hour or bids on the last day after I've been the highest bidder for a week and a half. Half the time I can let it go, some ponies are bound to show up again sooner or later and sometimes they aren't ponies I NEED to have. What gets me going is that I have to get into a bidding war with the same people every other day. I've found that since joining the board, if I notice that one of you guys have the current highest bid, I just can't bring myself to bid. You're all too nice.

Hehehe i know what you mean about seeing other members names and not wanting to bid against them, mind you there will never be any hard feelings if you outbid me on an item that just means you want it more then me

who ever wins fair and square is the winner, but I HATE snipers. Its just really unfair. Especially considering I'm on dial up, I can't play that game and win.

Sniping as nothing to do with playing fair, I think anyway. Ebay is not meant to be fair, its for selling and getting the best price on and for making money for the sellers.

But sniping doesn't get the best price for a seller. Bidding a maximum amount when there is still more than 30 seconds to go does. Sniping gets something cheaper for a buyer with quick internet.

Okay you guys are gonna love me as well but I won't bid any other way AND i'm on dial up!
The last 8 seconds are fair game and if everyone enters their highest price then whoever is willing to fork out the dollars gets it.
I have to sit patiently reloading an auction page or 2 repeatedly for ages to even have a chance.
I do not understand at all why anyone would bid days or hours early? It just pushes up the price. Seriously, I get just as annoyed at the early bidders as the early bidders do with me LOL!
I guess if you are going away and can't be at the computer when the auction goes off then maybe, but I've gotten up at three in the morning to bid...and still lost. Arrrrrgggghhhh! ;D
It's all part of the motivation of participating in ebay though, the hope that you can get what you want without going entirely broke in the process! Oh and the last minute adrenalin as you wait for the screen to refresh and see if you won. I got beaten tonight in the last 2 seconds ( I bid in the last 8 seconds in case my dial up got stuck for a few seconds). But that's how it goes. Guess I wasn't meant to have that one, this time.
