Well today I got home to find builders making another wardrobe for my Mum, that in itself is not bad but what it means is!! What it means is my Mum's girlfriend is moving in around xmas time. I REALLY do not like Myra (the girlfriend) and feel very uncomfortable around her and when they're together, I've been trying not to bawl my eyes out since I heard. This turn of events means I now need to find a new place to live by xmas, but I hate the thought of moving in with people I don't know (I actually dread it so much). I've been looking at places on the internet with 1-2 bedrooms but they're all gross!! I also hate the thought of having no place to put all my ponies, posters and paintings up (you've seen pics of my collection, ponies and playsets). Sorry about this but I've just had to rant somewhere (sisters are no help) and since I know all of you better than everyone at the Arena, I thought you might understand more.

Well that sucks, pony_magick. Did you mum at least bring it up with you prior to today or was it a complete surprise? Everyone keeps advising me to move out of home and as much as I'd love to, can't afford to live alone. Just like you, I'd rather not live with strangers and don't have any friends who are able to move out either. I hope you are able to work something out. I don't know how people can manage to keep their collections boxed up and put away - I wouldn't feel like I had a collection if I couldn't see it.

No, it was a complete surprise!! I've had my collection boxed up before with only one or two out but then it's not a collection, just a few ponies on display.all over the place!! Wouldn't it be nice if we could go flatting together? It would solve a few problems! I might look into moving in with my aunt for a few months - see if that works...

poor ponymagick. You can come live with us in my spare room. Sure that means immigrating to Australia where you know even LESS people... but so what?

Living with people that don't understand you is so very hard, it's like you have nowhere that you can just chill and be yourself warts and all. I can't live (or even stay for very long) with someone I can't yell at one minute and laugh with the next, with no awkwardness. I am too upfront for most people! You need that confortable dynamic for it to really be a home - good luck finding it! Maybe it is time for a sea change....

It'd be nice to move to Aussie - but that costs lots of money plus the agony of finding another job... Anyway things have been sorted for the moment at least, I'm moving in with my Aunt. I rang her yesterday to explain what was happening and to ask her to think about the idea of me moving in, but before I could ask her she came out and asked "You want to move in with me?" and then went on to babble about internet connections and stuff!! She sounds really excited and I'm so relived!! Thanks for the support!!! *hugs to all*

I'm glad everything turned out well, even for the ponies. We'll just have to work on getting you to move here some other time. ;D

I'm glad you found somewhere welcoming.
Just a bit of advice though - don't freak out about moving out. It's only harrowing for the first part where you are working out where/who/how. It gets so much better.
Honestly it was the best thing I EVER DID! I moved out and lived alone in a crappy flat for a couple of years (can we say "no money"), then ended up sharing the best apartment we could find with a mate from work. I never looked back.

I wasn't looking forward to moving out - but I know what flatting is like. Flatting was ok but it didn't work out in the end. But at least this way I don't have to box all my ponies up like last time!! I also didn't mind living alone - I'd actually prefer it over living with strangers but I don't get paid enough to do that while living somewhere decent.
