My name is Laura, I'm 22 and am from Canberra. I only had four ponies when I was little (Pony Bride I, Princess Pristina, Bunny Hop and Little Giggles - all in fabulous condition) as they were quite expensive back then. I had lots of fakies in my herd and I loved them just as much. I still remember watching 'My Little Pony and Friends' on tv and I had a divine Pony Bride top and skirt which I got one Christmas - everything you'd expect in an early/mid 90's pony outfit, glitter, puffy sleeves and pink!
I started collecting G3's in 2004 when I meet my best friend at uni who shared a deep-seeded but hidden love of our old toys and movies. We bought each other a pony for Christmas (I gave her Star Swirl in her raincoat and I was given Loop-de-la). Since then both of our collections have grown but mine is about 3 times larger as she also collects carebears.
I currently have 72 G3's, 4 G1's, 2 sets of petite ponies (5 in each set so 10) and some merchandise but since I recently decided to collect my favourite G1 ponies (mostly ones from the series) and am an ebay addict, I have a whooping total of 22 ponies on their way to me (17 G1's + Spike [I'm very proud of myself for having him] and 5 G3's). I'm horribly poor but I can't say no to a good deal! That, and I love knowing I have something coming to me in the mail.

I just won two new girls off ebay (I couldn't help myself, I never saw Twinkle Bloom or Star Surprise in the stores and I just had to have them) and luckily the seller was in Canberra. I went to go pick them up today and the lady's husband answered the door. He went off to go get the ponies and all of a sudden, their young daughter runs up and thrusts a plush Sunny Daze against the wire door and makes her dance for me, singing 'neigh, neigh, neigh'. It was sooooo cute. When I turned to leave, I heard her say to her dad, 'Dad! She has a pony handbag! I want one!' A young pony fanatic in the making, perhaps?
