Hi everyone!
I know some of you have seen this on the Arena but for everyone out of the loop, the idea of a Christmas swap or Secret Santa has been brought up. A while ago I had thought of organizing an Aussie & Kiwi swap but since then the Arena has been hit with a mass of swaps going on at once so I thought I'd wait until next year. Nevertheless, there seems to be enough interest to run it now.
For those who haven't been in one of the Arena swaps before, they tend to go run like this. You submit some details about yourself such as your non-mlp interests, favourite things, etc as well as a current want list of ponies and your name and address. You are then given a partner to buy for, often within a price limit. You don't have to buy from the person's want list but it certainly helps. You don't tell anyone who your partner is and the person you have does not have you. You can include all sorts of goodies in your package, lollies, toys, stationary, candles, bath things, the sky's the limit, but there will be an agreed upon minimum amount of ponies or value of ponies (more common ponies or fewer harder to find ponies). Before the deadline you send your partner their box which should include a note with who you are.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
Now before I work out the finer details of the swap, which should be within the next day or so, I just wanted to know how many people might be interested and what their opinions on the following questions were. You can answer them here or on the thread at the Arena.
About how much would you be willing to spend on your partner?
The amount should be in Aussie dollars and does not include postage. Put an amount you know you can realistically meet. Perhaps the best way to think of this is to consider how much you might spend on a Christmas gift to a friend.
Suppose the swap included members in both Australia and New Zealand, would you be open to sending a package to New Zealand or would you want to send exclussively within Australia?
